Literary Review

Esperanza was used to life full of riches and luxury. She loved her beautiful ranch and her family. She wanted it to stay the same way forever. Life for Esperanza changes when her Papa is killed. Things can never change back to the way they once were.
Esperanza and her family are forced to leave wonderful Mexico and start a whole new life on a camp for migrant workers in California. Used to being pampered and taken care of, Esperanza has a difficult time adjusting to her new working orders. Money is hard to come by and she is faced with racism. A strike for better working conditions threaten her job and income. When Mama gets sick times get even worse. Esperanza has to fight for her life and the life of her mother -- can she do it?
