I would tell her that she was brave. She had to move from her home into a foreign place and work to support her and her mother. She had to grow up quickly and did a good job at it. It wouldn' be easy fro anbody but she stepped up and worked hard.
I would tell Esperanza that I have a lot of respect for her. She has gone through so much, yet she was able to remain so strong. When her father died, I felt like she dealt with it in a good, healthy way. She acted more mature then I probably would have.
